updated Luminotes tour
I just updated the Luminotes tour with a little introduction comparing Luminotes to index cards. So if you have friends or colleagues who you'd like to get hooked on Luminotes as well, just send 'em over to the tour. Anyone who has ever used index cards for note taking should be able to understand how Luminotes works.Dan
share your notebook with invite links
For quite a while now, Luminotes has allowed you to send out invitation emails for your wiki. That way friends and colleagues can view or edit your notebook. But getting an invite email through to its intended recipient can sometimes be a pain.Maybe the friend you're inviting has a spam filter that erroneously blocks the email. Or maybe they see the email, but don't realize what it is and delete it. Perhaps email is just too 2003 for you, and you'd prefer to send out your invite links by instant message or something even faster.
Well, now you can! I've just updated Luminotes so that whenever you click that "share" link on the right side of the page and invite people to your wiki, you'll be shown the invite link that they'll actually receive. Then, if you like, you can cut and paste that invite link and get it to them by instant message, your own email, carrier pigeon, or whatever means you like. The point is that now you can decide what to do with the invite link yourself.
Here's how it looks:
And of course you're welcome to just ignore the new invite link and rely on good ol' email too. It's entirely up to you.
Enjoy! And have a good weekend.

Luminotes coverage
Luminotes was mentioned in an article on Lifehack called The Quick and Dirty Guide to Personal Wikis. Welcome to all of the new users! In other news, Luminotes now has well over 2,000 (non-demo) user accounts.Dan
revert to an older note revision
New feature announcement: You can now revert or roll back one of your wiki notes to an earlier version of the note. Just click that "changes" tab at the top of the note, select an older revision of the note from the list, and click the big "revert to this revision" button at the top of the old revision. Your note's contents will be returned to exactly as they were in that earlier revision. This new feature is really handy for undoing mistakes. Decide that you like your recipe the way it used to be before you added extra ingredients? Just revert your note. Think that your note about your novel's protagonist was clearer before your recent changes? Simply roll back your note to an earlier version.
Enjoy!

suggest-as-you-type for linking and searching
Making links between your notes is essential when creating your wiki. At some point, I'll bet you've had a moment where you think of a particular note that you'd like to link to, but you just can't remember the exact name. Did you include a "the" in the note title? Was it plural, or singular? How will you link to the note if you can't remember what it's called?Well, now finding a note to link to is even easier. I just rolled out a shiny new suggest-as-you-type feature for both linking and searching. Whenever you create a new link and start typing the title, you get a handy-dandy list of potential destination notes. Observe:
Even better, the suggest-as-you-type feature works for searching your notebook as well. Trying to open a particular note, but can't remember what it's called? Just start typing a word of the title in the search field, and a list of possibilities will update as you type. Click on one of the titles (or select one with your keyboard) and the note will open up without you even having to perform a search!
