minor improvements and fixes

Since my last post here, I've put out a number of releases with minor improvements and bug fixes. So I thought that I should mention those here, since I know a number of you watch this blog to find out when new Luminotes releases are available.

Here are some of the highlights:
  • Better copying and pasting from other applications: There are still more improvements to be made in this area, but now Luminotes better handles pasted text from MS Word. As of this most recent release, it can also handle external links copied and pasted from other web pages.
  • Recognizes "mailto:" email links: You can now create a link in Luminotes that starts with "mailto:" in order to link to an email address. For instance, you can now set a link's destination to "mailto:[email protected]".
  • Several Luminotes Desktop improvements: There is now a "close" link at the top of the page for completely shutting down Luminotes. You don't have to use it, but several users wanted to be able to stop the Luminotes program without having to resort to killing it in the Windows task manager. (This is especially useful for those running Luminotes from a USB drive.) Additionally, Luminotes Desktop now tries to use the same port every time it's run, with the idea that you can always reach it at the same web address.
If you've had any recent problems, upgrading to the most recent release (1.6.6 as of this writing) is highly recommended.

Thanks to Tony (you know who you are!) for suggesting many of these changes. If you've got any suggestions of your own, contact me or post on the forums.

Enjoy!

Dan
