new feature: import internet

new feature: import internet

A number of Luminotes users have been asking for wiki importing features that allow you to import notes and pages from other wikis and applications. To support this, I could have gone ahead and implemented an import filter for each and every type of wiki software out there. This would take quite a while, given the huge variety of wiki software currently available.

So in the interests of supporting importing from as many types of wikis as possible, I'm excited to announce a new feature that allows you to import the internet into your wiki. When you're viewing one of your Luminotes wiki notebooks, you'll find a new link on the right side of the page called "import internet". When you click it, the entirety of the internet will be imported into your Luminotes wiki, so any pages you need will be easily available within your notebook. This process may take several seconds to complete, so please be patient.

One thing to keep in mind with this new feature is that importing the whole internet into your wiki takes quite a bit of storage space. To support this, I've just rolled out a new rate plan that includes 50,000,000 megabytes of storage, which should be enough space to store the internet in your wiki with a few megabytes leftover for your own notes.

Let me know what you think!

Dan
