user admin features and new subscription plans!

Luminotes began life as a simple personal wiki. You could create notes. You could format text. You could make links between your notes. And for many users, that was more than enough. There was finally a wiki that people actually liked using.

But it wasn't long before Luminotes users began to clamor for the ability to invite their friends to view their wiki. Then, once I implemented that feature, users wondered aloud if it would be possible for their friends to edit their wiki too. Soon, Luminotes had full collaboration features, and people began to see the benefit of a simple personal wiki that came built-in with collaboration support.

So it was only a matter of time until these same users, and many new ones, wanted to use Luminotes to support team collaboration within an organization. Users asked things like:
  • "What if I want to create and manage the Luminotes user accounts within my company?"
  • "What about subscribing just once and getting 5, 10, or even more included users?"
  • "Can all of these included users share a common pool of storage space?"
  • "Will Luminotes do my laundry?"
Well, I heard your call. And so today I'm excited to announce new Luminotes user administration features. Here's what's new:
  • Two new subscriptions plans that include multiple users with a single subscription, ideal for teams and organizations.
  • All included user accounts share a common pool of storage space. At the time of this post, that's 1000 MB for Luminotes Plus and 5000 MB for Luminotes Premium.
  • You get admin privileges when you subscribe, allowing you to create and manage your own users.
These new features are just the beginning of Luminotes support for teams and organizations. In the future, you can look forward to additional user admin features like managing user notebook access without sending invites, inviting existing users to join your group (rather than joining a particular notebook), and so on.

This first round of user admin features is designed to elicit feedback from you, the Luminotes users, and serve as a base upon which future features can be built. So if you have some ideas for where you'd like to see these features go, please let me know. My goal is to make Luminotes into the wiki you've always wanted.

However, when it comes to doing your laundry, you're on your own.
