local linking w/firefox

While firefox does not allow local linking, in the link you supply us on the issue: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_don%27t_work
they suggest a simple plugin called Local Link (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/281)
this works fine in the browser but not in Luminotes (LN) as the LN link system does not recognize the "file" prefix.

Since drag and drop works great in that in LN, for instance if I drag the C:/_data windows folder icon into LM I get file:///C:/_data/  already link hilighted but do not get functionailty since the yelllow dialog box calls it a empty note, it might be an easy fix to get great functionailty of local file linking.

Seems like it may be an easy fix ( recognizing "file" prefix and as web link?) to get local linking working using this firefox addon.then it would be very nice to drag files/images on the filesystem into LN and have immediate linking back functionailty. I might be understating the functionailty needed. So take this as a request.

Re: local linking w/ firefox

Hi Steve,

I think you are probably correct. It may be that if I make Luminotes recognize "file://" links as actual links, then anyone using the Local Link Firefox extension will be able to make links to local files from Luminotes Desktop. I'll look into this for the next release.
