linking to a web page

Sometimes it's useful to make a link to an outside web page instead of one of your wiki notes. To make a link to a web page, start out by making a new link. Then, when the yellow link info box pops up, click on the white text field within that box. Type or paste the full URL address of any web page, such as https://luminotes.com and then press enter. You'll see that the preview text changes to "web link".

Note that you must include the "http://", "https://", or "mailto:" portion of the URL in order for Luminotes to recognize it as an external web link instead of a normal wiki note.

You should also know that if you happen to have a note with a URL address as its title, and you type that URL into a link info box, then the link will be to your note instead of an external web page.

If you're using the Firefox web browser, then when you make a link to a web page, a small icon will be shown next to the link so you can tell at a glance that it's a link to an external web site instead of a link to a note in your wiki.
